Samwoh was incorporated in Singapore as a transport and logistics company by three lorry drivers in 1975. Its business started developing in the 1980s when it secured a few sizeable transportation and logistics projects from the Housing and Development Board and also the Public Works Department. The company also invested in an asphalt batching plant and expanded on its asphalt premix supplying and laying services.
Today, the company has grown from its humble beginnings into a market leader in construction and maintenance of road, aircraft and seaport pavement. The company is also at the forefront of providing civil engineering, infrastructural construction services, supplying of building materials, offering of specialised blasting systems, recycling of construction and industrial wastes and consultancy services. The concept of a “one-stop service” has differentiated Samwoh from the others.
In 2009 and 2010, the company was awarded the top winner in the Enterprise 50 Awards - Singapore’s most enterprising company. Samwoh sees a positive growth for the construction market in Singapore and will continuously strive to be a market leader in its specialised fields.
Over the years, it has been actively involved in the recycling of construction and industrial wastes in response to the government’s call to reduce, reuse and recycle wastes. This vividly demonstrates the company’s commitment towards a sustainable development and towards corporate social responsibility. By continuously seeking new ventures, persistently pushing technological and innovative frontiers, and being a one-stop supplier of construction goods and services, Samwoh continuously seek to succeed and achieve greater heights in future.
