Samwoh contributes to a "Beary Good Cause" Fund Raising Project
In support of the People's Association Women's Integration Network Council's fund-raising project, Samwoh adopted 50 bears that were presented to children in the Council's Grace Mentorship Programme as well as children who are HIV-infected.
These adorable hand-decorated bears were made by the ladies from the Women's Executive Committees (WEC). 104 WECs, volunteers and residents from different walks of lives took several days to decorate 1,200 bears for adoption by individuals and companies, with the aim of raising $60,000 for these children.
In recognition of the generous efforts of these ladies, Samwoh adopted the bears as part of its CSR efforts. Just like how the company views sustainable construction practices as an integral facet of Singapore's sustainable future, it also recognises the need to provide less fortunate children with support so that they may have a chance of a better future.
Samwoh's Director, Pang Kok Lian, was then invited to a bear presentation ceremony held at Ang Mo Kio CC, where the company-adopted bears were presented to children, recipients of the fund-raiser's proceeds.
Aside from the bear presentation ceremony, the children also took part in games as well as enjoyed a McDonald's lunch treat. All this helped to ensure that the children brought their bears home with big smiles on their faces and new friends found.
There was also time for a pleasant surprise, when Joanna Portilla, Chairman for the People's Association Women's Integration Network Council presented Samwoh's Director with a couple of bears as a token of appreciation.
