Samwoh recognised as a top bizSAFE Partner at bizSAFE Convention 2012

On 16th February 2012, Samwoh was awarded the bizSAFE Partner Award at the inaugural bizSAFE Awards 2012.

Samwoh's Managing Director Mr Elvin Koh PBM, shared the limelight with three other bizSAFE Partner Award winners as they received the inaugural award from Guest-of-Honour Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, Minister of State for National Development and Manpower, at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.

Following the Award segment, Elvin took to the stage to make a presentation on Samwoh’s exemplary Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) culture that had enabled the company to win the award. In the presentation, he presented Samwoh’s strategies and programmes to encourage stakeholders to join the bizSAFE programme as well as a case study of Project ER233 that was completed with zero loss-time injury.

On receiving the award, Elvin said, "Safety is of paramount importance to Samwoh. Our employees are key assets to the company. We believe in providing an injury-free work environment where everyone feels safe. As a bizSAFE Partner, we hope to carry on assisting our subcontractors and suppliers in achieving higher bizSAFE certifications."

Samwoh adds this award to a growing list of safety awards, including 2 Safety and Health Award Recognition for Project (SHARP) awards for LTA Project ER233 as well as the "Accident-Free Million Man-hours" Recognition Award, which is a clear indicator of the company’s firm belief in the importance of a strong WSH culture.

The bizSAFE programme was conceived by the WSH Council to help companies build WSH capabilities through a step-by-step approach. Today, over 10,000 enterprises are part of the bizSAFE community.
